Why We Chose It
The W Aspen opened in 2018 and introduced something the town had long lacked — a contemporary, design-forward hotel for the traveler who finds the Victorian-grande-dame aesthetic of the Jerome or the understated classic of the Little Nell less appealing. The 99 rooms are bold: black and gold interiors, oversized beds, mountain views through large windows. The Wet Deck pool lounge is Aspen's most social hotel outdoor space in summer. WET bar in winter is a post-ski destination for a younger, louder crowd than the J-Bar. Ski valet, boot dryers, and a great location two blocks from the gondola.
