La Cabrera

Fine Dining

Getaway Unpacked Edit

The parrilla that most locals actually go to — La Cabrera in Palermo Soho, open since 2001, with an extraordinary selection of side dishes (the 'extras' are a parade of 15 small plates that accompany the steak), a beautiful outdoor seating area, and the most generous portions in the city. The 6:30–8pm early-bird slot (30% discount) is the local power move. Lines are long without a reservation — book online.

Why It Belongs on the List

The parrilla most locals actually go to — generous cuts, excellent provoleta, and free appetiser platters while you wait. Two Palermo locations; the original on Thames is the better room.

What Stands Out

  • 15-plus small side dishes accompanying the steak: the most generous parrilla experience in BA

  • The bife de chorizo (sirloin): the essential order, always tender
