The walk from the Piazzetta along Via Camerelle or Via Tragara to the Faraglioni viewpoint at Belvedere Tragara is among the most beautiful short walks in the Mediterranean — 1km through a landscape of whitewashed walls, overhanging wisteria, lemon groves, and glimpses of blue sea, ending at the dramatic panorama of the three Faraglioni rising from the water. The Faraglioni are Capri's defining image: three limestone stacks, the outermost pierced by an arch through which boats pass. The Gardens of Augustus (Giardini di Augusto) are on a terrace below Via Tragara — flower beds, bougainvillea, and a breathtaking view that includes Via Krupp (the serpentine stone staircase descending to Marina Piccola) and the Faraglioni simultaneously. From Belvedere Tragara the Via del Pizzolungo continues east along the cliff for a longer circuit back toward Capri Town through wilder terrain.
