Hotel Punta Tragara occupies a remarkable position in Capri's history and geography: designed by Le Corbusier as a private villa for a Lombardy engineer, then used by Eisenhower and Churchill as a military headquarters during World War II, then converted into a hotel with extraordinary results. It sits directly above the Faraglioni, and from the two pools and the restaurant terrace, the three limestone sea stacks fill the entire horizon. Le Monzù restaurant (Michelin-recommended) under Chef Luigi Lionetti serves an exceptional seven-course tasting menu that celebrates the island's produce.
