Downtown Jackson — Town Square Adjacent — Rooftop Lounge — The Bistro

Getaway Unpacked Edit

Downtown Jackson's most contemporary hotel — Town Square adjacent, with a rooftop hot tub, polished rooms, and a ski concierge. More design-forward than Hotel Jackson at an equivalent position.

Why We Chose It

The Cloudveil represents a different vision for downtown Jackson luxury than the rustic-lodge idiom that dominates: contemporary design, sustainable touches (metal water bottles in every room, filtered water stations on every floor, eliminating plastic), a lobby that hosts live music and yoga events, and the only hotel pool in downtown Jackson — a rare amenity given the town's building constraints. The Bistro, the hotel's ground-floor restaurant, is one of the more reliable dining rooms in town: French brasserie influences, a raw oyster program, excellent pommes frites, and a zinc bar where the après-ski scene extends from winter deep into summer. The rooftop lounge looks out toward Snow King Mountain, which offers night skiing in winter and an Alpine slide in summer. The Cloudveil is particularly recommended for those who find the Western lodge aesthetic overrepresented in Jackson's hotel landscape and want something that reflects a more cosmopolitan design sensibility.
