Rockhouse Hotel

Negril West End Cliffs — Boutique — 34 Villas & Cottages

Getaway Unpacked Edit

Thatched-roof villas carved into Negril's limestone cliffs above the Caribbean. A cliff-face pool, direct cliff-diving access, and Jamaica's most architecturally distinctive resort.

Why We Chose It

Rockhouse is the most architecturally striking hotel in Jamaica — a collection of 34 thatched-roof villas and cottages built into the limestone cliffs of Negril's West End, with a cliff-face infinity pool, direct access to cliff diving, and sea caves below that you can snorkel through at low tide. The property was built in 1994 by a group of Australian and Italian designers and retains a strongly personal, non-corporate character. The Rockhouse Restaurant perched on the cliff edge is excellent — the best hotel restaurant in Negril. The adjoining Pushcart Restaurant (same ownership, slightly more casual) is also very good. The West End cliff location is 20 minutes from Seven Mile Beach by taxi.
