Why It’s Worth Your Time
The twin reflecting pools occupy the exact footprints of the original towers, with the names of the 2,977 victims inscribed in bronze around the edges. The underground museum preserves artifacts, survivor testimonies, and sections of the original structure. The Survivor Tree — a Callery pear recovered from the rubble and nursed back to health — stands in the plaza. The memorial plaza is free and open daily; the museum requires timed-entry tickets.
