The Miraflores Locks visitor center is the best way to experience the Panama Canal — a four-deck observation platform looks directly onto the locks where ships transit between the Pacific and Atlantic. The museum chronicles the canal's construction history, the role of Panamanian workers, and the engineering of the 2016 expansion. The new Agua Clara Locks on the Atlantic side accommodate the larger New Panamax vessels and offer an even more dramatic scale.
