Paris, France — Restaurants

Frenchie

Fine Dining

Getaway Unpacked Edit

One of the defining modern Paris restaurants — Gregory Marchand's compact dining room near Rue Montorgueil with seasonal menus, serious technique, and a more accessible reservation window than Septime. Also operates Frenchie Wine Bar next door for a more casual version of the same kitchen.

Why It Belongs on the List

Frenchie opened in 2009 and was among the first restaurants to define the neo-bistro category that Septime and others have since developed further. Marchand trained under Jamie Oliver and Marco Pierre White; the cooking is French in structure with global ingredient references. The Wine Bar next door (no reservations) serves the same standard at lower prices over a counter.
