Why It’s Worth Your Time
Yu Garden (Yuyuan) is a 16th-century Ming Dynasty garden — classical Chinese pavilions, rockeries, and koi ponds in the heart of the Old City. The surrounding bazaar is tourist-heavy but the garden itself is a genuine treasure.

- Tianzifang: explore from 10am–noon (before tourist crowds peak), best boutiques and art
