Yu Garden (Yuyuan) is a 16th-century Ming Dynasty garden — 2 hectares of pavilions, rockeries, ponds, and zigzag bridges in the heart of the city. The surrounding Yuyuan Bazaar is touristy but has the best xiaolongbao in the area (Nan Xiang, since 1900) and excellent local snack culture. The Old City God Temple (Chenghuang Miao) complex is atmospheric day or night.
