The staircase descends to Anse Cochon, a dark volcanic sand cove with excellent snorkeling and diving. The atmosphere is hushed and romantic: cocktails before dinner, candlelit meals in the open-air restaurant, and the largest wine cellar in St. Lucia. No children under 12. No air conditioning — ceiling fans and sea breezes. The sense of genuine seclusion here is unlike the larger Soufrière resorts.
