Dunmore Beach Club

Harbour Island — Boutique — 19 Cottages

Getaway Unpacked Edit

The quieter, traditional alternative to Pink Sands — 19 well-appointed cottages on Harbour Island's pink sand. A loyal, long-tenured clientele and an easier rhythm on the same magnificent beach.

Why We Chose It

The Dunmore Beach Club is Harbour Island's original great hotel — founded in the 1950s and named after the colonial governor who built his summer retreat here. The 19 pastel cottages are spread across a flowering hillside above the pink beach. The vibe is more buttoned-down and old-school Caribbean than Pink Sands, attracting a well-heeled American clientele who value privacy and routine. The beach bar is a Briland institution. Unlike Pink Sands, the Dunmore is more about unplugging than being seen.

What Stands Out

  • Original Harbour Island luxury — established 1950s
  • Pink sand beach access — same three-mile stretch
  • Beach bar that's a Briland institution for sundowners
  • Old-school Caribbean atmosphere — unhurried and private
  • Hillside cottage setting with flowering gardens
